Time Traveler Soldiers Done-ish
Ok, so I think I've successfully noodled this shot ad nauseam. I'm happy with the state of the animation for now, and I'm going to begin the lighting/rendering process soon...probably. I'm pretty anxious to start a new dialog shot, so the finalizing of this shot might be put on the back burners.

Time Travelers - WIP 2
More work on the Time Travelers shot. I'm going to start moving in to the polish pass next. I've been working to build the relationship between the two characters just by having Bishop, look at and remember the events that have gone on between the two characters. I feel like I've been successful in showing a history between the two and the hurt that he feels on losing his companion.

Time Travelers - WIP
So this shot was originally created for an animation competition at Spungella but I wasn't able to get the shot done in time. Life...has a way of getting IN the way. As I have been working to finish this shot up, I'm starting to like the characters more and more. I've started to flesh out their story a little more and I'm thinking this could be turn into an actual Short Film. If that's the case, then I'll make sure to keep updating on the progress of it.
Site Update
I've updated my website!
It was quite a feat let me tell you. Now you don't have to have flash to view my animation work. Stay tuned, I'll be uploading my current WIP very soon.

Done Doggie, Done
Here's my final render for my dog walking scene. I fumbled my way through an Image Based Lighting tutorial that's pretty easy to follow to set up the lights. Overall I'm OK with how this turned out. I think my biggest issue was just the fact that my workflow got messed up on this shot so it took me longer to edit his walk than I would've liked.
Looking back at my first post of this video, it's definitely come a long way, hahaha!
Enjoy!

Work In Progress II: Electric Bugaloo
So here's my dog walking shot from earlier. I actually have more work done on the dog's feet contact, but the file is not with me now. It is definitely quite an experience creating a walk cycle for a quadraped. Just trying to figure out how to distribute the weight and when to time out the feet has been very eye opening.

This past week I've been working on an animation for a contest on http://www.spungella.blogspot.com/. The goal was to create 100 frames based on the idea of guilty and so I present my entry: "Another Error".

Work In Progress
I'm calling this my first post-Animation Mentor short, but technically, I started it in my last week. This is my first attempt at a walk cycle for a four-legged animal and it's not really that close to being done. My inspiration for this one came from a walk on a trail with my dog. In real life, I was much more prepared.

Chuck Jones
I came across this Chuck Jones interview over at Cartoon Brew. Definitely a worth while video. I recommend watching the whole 3 hour she-bang-a-bang if you've got the time. If not, skip to part three for some awesome words of wisdom from a legend in the field of animation.
New Blog
So, I'm starting this blog to share my adventures in animation, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Mostly animation, though. I'll try to keep up with the posts, so for all none of you following it right now, I'll make it worth your while at some point. Soon.
